Probably perturbed at the persistent efforts by the TRS government to put him in the dock over the infamous note-for-vote case that has turned politics murkier, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu today, in a startling threat in New Delhi, said that the KCR government would collapse within a day if he was arrested in the note-for-vote case.
He dared the TRS government to arrest him.
"If they arrest me, the TRS government will soon end up in a mess," he predicted during an interview with an English TV channel.
These remarks assume significance as Telangana and AP Governor E S L Narasimhan who is in Delhi had already met President Pranab Mukherjee and submitted a report on the current political scenario in Telangana and the note-for-vote case in which Naidu's involvement is alleged.
Naidu who is also camping in Delhi has reportedly complained to Prime Minister Narendra Modi against the KCR government for tapping his phone and over the ACB case in the Revanth Reddy episode.
Even as the political slugfest between the two Telugu states escalated, Naidu fumed at the TRS government for trying to fix him in the case.
Naidu also refused to respond on the recorded phone call of the alleged conversation he had with MLA Stevenson.
"Why should I respond?" he asked. "I am not afraid of that case and I will fight it tooth and nail. We will fight it legally and constitutionally, as the TRS government is resorting to the politics of vengeance," Naidu said. (NSS)
