Stating that TDP chief and AP Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu's role in the note-for-vote scam was clear, the Telangana State Council of the Communist Party of India on Thursday demanded that the former resign in order to prove his sincerity as a good politician and a man of moral and ethical values.
The executive of the Telangana State CPI Council met today at Maqdoom Bhavan under the presidentship of M Balanarasimha.
In a pressnote released after the meeting, CPI State Secretary Chada Venkat Reddy deplored the attempts to make the note-for-vote scam an issue between the two Telugu states.
The chief ministers of the two Telugu states were trading charges in an uncivilized manner lowering the status of their posts, he lamented.
As the recording of the conversation involving him in the note-for-vote scam appeared convincing, there was no alternative to Chandrababu Naidu laying down office and prove his credentials, the CPI leader said.
On the defection of MLAs, the CPI leader said the change of parties by the legislators was not only immoral but also illegal.
Stating that defections were going on shamelessly in the neighbouring Andhra Pradesh, too, Reddy exhorted the need to end the menace.
He also dubbed the role of the Speakers as bad saying they were misusing their powers undemocratically. (NSS)
