One of the accused in the sensational 2015 note-for-vote case Jerusalem Matthaiah spoke to the media today after KCR re-initiated activity in the case yesterday, and, after thanking the Telangana CM for re-starting proceedings in the case, demanding that the case be handed over to the CBI.
Mathaiah has long been upset about being included in the case as an accused, claiming he was made a scapegoat. Proceedings against him in the case were quashed by the High Court in 2016, but he still wrote to the Supreme Court earlier this year that he wanted to turn an approver in the case.
Mathaiah said that both the TDP and the TRS had made him a scapegoat in the case. He also said that the TDP leaders were likely to have tried to purchase several other MLAs along with Stephenson, and demanded that the government order a probe into the phone calls of all the relevant TDP leaders in this regard.
He also said that he wanted the case against him to be reopened as he wanted the "truths" to come out.
