Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao today felicitated world badminton champion P V Sindhu when she along with her coach P Gopichand, family members and some sportspersons called on him at his camp office, Pragathi Bhavan.
The Chief Minister heaped praise on her for clinching the gold in the recent badminton World Championships at Basel in Switzerland. He gushed that Sindhu had brought enormous glory to the country, and had made Telangana and India proud on the world stage. He expressed hope that Sindhu's feat would be an inspiration to other sportspersons in the State.
"The State government will provide all possible support to sportspersons to help them win more laurels for the State," he added.
Separately, Telangana Governor E S L Narasimhan and his wife Vimala Narasimhan too felicitated Sindhu, in a brief program at Darbar Hall in Raj Bhavan which was again attended by Gopichand, too.
Narasimhan also felicitated para-shuttler Manasi Joshi, who also won gold in the same championships, on the occasion.
Tourism Minister V Srinivas Goud, Sindhu's family members and noted sportsmen were present in the meeting.
