During a Cabinet meeting at the Pragathi Bhavan today, Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao instructed the officials to take additional measures to address all pandemic-related issues in the state by making available more health facilities at all hospitals.

The Cabinet also discussed several issues other issues including the implementation of the Dalit Bandhu scheme, the handling of the Covid-19 pandemic, the preparations needed to face a possible third wave, agricultural concerns, and irrigation projects.

Following the deliberations on farmers' issues, it was decided that farmer loans of Rs 50,000 would be waived by the end of August. The move will reportedly benefit about six lakh farmers. It will be welcomed by the state's agrarian community because in the last two years, the TRS government had been waiving off loans of only Rs 25,000 due to the financial constraints caused by the pandemic.

It decided to "strengthen" the hostels of the state's medical colleges with all the necessary facilities and to speed up the process of finding lands for the seven newly sanctioned medical colleges.

Besides this, the CM decided to set up a multi-specialty hospital for labourers in the Patancheru area. Hospitals will be set up at Gaddi Annaram near Dilsukh Nagar and Alwal in Secunderabad. All these super-specialty hospitals in the state will be named TIMS. They will have every type of health facilities to cater to multiple health needs of the public.

During today's meeting, the Cabinet also appointed a sub-committee to take steps to help the children who were orphaned or vulnerable to poverty and destitution due to the pandemic. ST Welfare Minister Satyavathi Rathod will reportedly head the committee of which ministers T Harish Rao, K T Rama Rao, V Srinivas Goud, T Srinivas Yadav, Sabitha Indra Reddy, G Jagadish Reddy, Koppula Eshwar, E Dayakar Rao, Gangula Kamalakar and Indrakaran Reddy will be members.
