BJP leader Vijayashanti today lashed out at Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao and asked him to behave "responsibly" while dealing with the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.
Talking to the media after inspecting the ongoing vaccination program at the Sriramnatar PHC, in Jubilee Hills, she claimed that though the state had been facing a lot of serious problems, KCR had spoken in a flippant and negligent manner about the seriousness of the pandemic on a couple of occasions.
The leader then asked the CM why he underwent treatment at Yashoda Hospital after contracting Covid-19 when he himself had stated that the disease could be cured with just a paracetamol pill.
She alleged that scores of people in the state had died due to the negligent behaviour of the CM, and urged him to take concrete steps to hold the vaccination drive in Telangana in an efficient and speedy manner.
The vaccination drive in the state has been proceeding in full swing. Health officials recently revealed that as many as 97 lakh people in the state had received the Covid-19 vaccine so far.
Further, the government has now opened vaccination drives to all those who are aged 18 and above. They will now be able to get vaccinated against Covid-19 at 204 immunisation centres across the state. People all over the state are already being inoculated on the basis of walk-in registrations at 636 primary healthcare centres in Telangana's rural pockets.
