Condemning the attempts by Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) President K Chandrasekhar to shift the blame of the MLC election fiasco to Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy, Government Chief Whip Batti Vikramarka on Sunday suggested that KCR should look deeper into the question of who might have cross voted during the polls.
Talking to media persons at Congress Legislature Party Office, Vikramarka stated that the TRS chief was relying on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) which is known for its communal outlook.
He added that the TRS had put up a candidate from the minority community, Mohd. Mahmood Ali, and had expected BJP’s help, even after being aware that it had only 11 MLAs.
"How can the TRS candidate win with 11 votes despite seeking the help of Bharatiya Janata Party?" Vikramarka questioned, and added that KCR had made the Muslim candidate a scapegoat, and thus insulted the community.
"The Congress is not responsible for the loss of the TRS candidate. KCR should withdraw his comments against the Chief Minister," the Whip stated.
