TRS supremo and Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao today directed his party cadre to coordinate at the village and town levels to win the upcoming ZPTC and MPTC elections.
"Strengthen the party by 100% in the rural areas through active coordination," he said.
Addressing an extended meeting of the party leaders at Telangana Bhavan on Monday, KCR finalised the names of MLAs Kova Lakshmi as Asifabad ZP Chairperson and Putta Madhu as Peddapally ZP Chairman, and said that he would announce the remaining names soon. He then asked the leaders to be prepared for the local body polls and win all of them.
KCR said that the rank and file of the ruling party should work in tandem at rural level. "We all know that we will win 16 MP seats. And we should continue the same momentum and in the same spirit to win 32 ZP Chairman posts and over 530 Mandal Parishat Chairman posts by taking the support of our local leaders," he said.
The Chief Minister also stressed the need for eradicating corruption as the people, and especially the farmers, were facing problems in their day to day lives. The TRS government would bring in tough reforms and new revenue and municipal acts to provide hassle-free and corruption-free services, he said.
"The people are pinning hopes on our government for delivery of speedy and better services without scope for corruption. There are many complaints about corruption in the revenue and other wings. During the election campaigning, we must create confidence among the people that they will get transparent and corruption-free services," he added.
