The birthday of the first Chief Minister of Telangana was celebrated with much enthusiasm and gusto in the state today.
The man himself offered prayers at the Peddamma Temple in Jubilee Hills along with party leaders K Kesava Rao and others. KCR also cut a gigantic and traditional "Pink Cake" at the event. Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav swiftly offered a piece of the cake to the Chief Minister, and touched his feet. Errabelli Dayakar Rao, who recently joined the TRS, also offered a cake to KCR and tried to bow, but the latter did not notice him.
On the sidelines, the women leaders of the party, including MP Kavitha, Deputy Speaker Padma Devender Reddy and many others, organized a lunch for themselves on the premises.
Telangana Bhavan, the TRS headquarters, was bathed in pink as TRS leaders enthusiastically exchanged pleasantries and distributed sweets and cake. Newly elected GHMC Deputy Mayor Baba Fasiyuddin, corporators - most of them women - and other top leaders were seen jostling with each other at the cake-cutting program to mark the occasion. Home Minister N Narasimha Reddy cut the cake and offered a piece to a fellow leader by his side. The videographers and cameramen had tough time getting the pictures of leaders as they indulged in plenty of bonhomie.
At the Telangana Secretariat, the fourth class employees celebrated KCR's birthday and distributed sweets and cake. On the occasion, they felicitated Secretariat Employees Association president Narender Rao who spoke of the statehood movement. He said that KCR had championed the cause of Telangana and, now was on a mission to make it a golden state. Narender expressed hope that every single employee of the state working in Andhra Pradesh would be brought back to the home state. KCR would take steps soon in this regard, he added.
