Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao on Tuesday directed the authorities to speed up the works of the Hyderabad Metro Rail.
The Chief Minister reviewed the status of the metro rail works in a high-level meeting with senior officials at the State Secretariat on Tuesday.
He directed Chief Secretary Dr Rajiv Sharma to submit a report on the establishment of a Special Protection Force at all the metro rail stations.
He also ordered the acquisition of government land on all three metro rail corridors. In addition, he gave the nod for the acquisition of 219 private and 25 government sites on the metro rail corridors.
He directed the GHMC to take steps to provide basic amenities at all metro rail stations.
Metro Rail MD N V S Reddy informed the Chief Minister that the construction of 1,640 pillars had been completed, and the foundation works had been done for 1,736 pillars of the metro rail. (INN)
