In an informal discussion with media personnel in New Delhi, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy today levelled serious allegations against Union minister and Telangana BJP president G Kishan Reddy.
The CM accused Kishan Reddy of deliberately obstructing the Hyderabad Metro expansion project.
He alleged a covert alliance between Kishan Reddy and former Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, and said that they were working together to undermine the current administration's initiatives.
"Since the Metro expansion did not take place during the previous BRS administration, Kishan Reddy does not want it to proceed under the Congress government either. This is why he is preventing the expansion project from advancing in the Union Cabinet," Revanth Reddy said.
He also spoke of his meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, where he said he discussed five pivotal issues: the Metro expansion, a regional ring road and rail project, the establishment of a dry port, and defense sector initiatives.
Addressing concerns about political defections, Reddy resorted to whataboutery and said that the MLAs who defected during 2014 to 2024 to the BRS were incorporated into the then cabinets.
The CM took the opportunity to also speak about some unresolved incidents including the deaths of individuals linked to the Kaleshwaram project. He challenged K T Rama Rao to respond to these incidents, and also called for judicial inquiries into the suspicious deaths.
Regarding the Srisailam Left Bank Canal (SLBC) project, Reddy criticized KCR for a "decade-long delay", and attributed the project's stagnation to the former administration's inaction. He credited the Congress for revitalizing the project.
Answering the questions about the tunnel rescue operations, he said that 11 organizations were involved in the operations.
