Harish Rao, Santosh Kumar Tarnished KCR: Kavitha

Telangana Jagruti President and BRS MLC Kalvakuntla Kavitha today made sensational remarks, expressing anguish that her father and former Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao was being unfairly blamed for the misdeeds of individuals close to him.

She alleged that former irrigation minister T Harish Rao, former MP J Santosh Kumar, and the management of Megha Engineering were responsible for tarnishing KCR's image in the Kaleshwaram project issue.

At a press conference, Kavitha said, "KCR worked tirelessly for the people, but some around him focused only on amassing personal wealth. Harish Rao and Santosh Kumar conspired against me several times, yet I remained silent. But today, as KCR's daughter, I feel deeply pained by the continuous allegations against and probes into him."

She also alleged that Chief Minister Revanth Reddy had reached a "slanderous agreement" with Harish Rao and Santosh Kumar, shielding them from criticism while targeting KCR.

Kavitha asked why minor faults were being exaggerated in the Kaleshwaram project issue. "Even if a small part of the Kaleshwaram project sinks, they create a storm as if the entire project has failed. This is a deliberate attempt to malign my father," she said.

Kavitha claimed that she was speaking out for the first time against those she was naming, and acknowledged that it could hurt the party in the upcoming local body elections. "For the first time, I am revealing the names of those harming the party and KCR. This situation has arisen because of evildoers like Harish Rao and Santosh Kumar. But even if it damages the party, I will continue to speak the truth. KCR is like the Himalayas - it is painful when he is accused of corruption. My father faced serious financial struggles for my wedding. Wouldn't it hurt me if a CBI probe is ordered against such a god-like father?" she asked, and said that she was determined to settle the issue regardless of how far it goes.

Kavitha also criticized the BRS leadership for not calling a Telangana bandh after the CBI probe into the Kaleshwaram Project was ordered and for "failing" to defend KCR in the Assembly.
