Eluru MP Kavuri Sambasiva Rao on Monday dismissed rumours that the Centre would take a decision on the Telangana statehood issue by the end of this month.
Eluru MP Kavuri Sambasiva Rao on Monday dismissed the rumours that the Centre would take a decision on the Telangana statehood issue by the end of this month.
Talking to media persons after emerging from a meeting with Seemandhra MPs at his residence, Kavuri Sambasiva Rao said that the media has exaggerated the issue as Telangana Rashtra Samithi president K Chandrasekhar Rao was staying in the New Delhi and having consultations over the statehood issue.
He said that Seemandhra Forum convenor S Sailajanath had gone to New Delhi as KCR was staying in the national capital.
Contrary to rumours in the media, he said that there was no activity on the statehood issue, and said that the Centre was likely to delay the announcement on Telangana.
In the meeting, Vijayawada MP Lagadapati Rajagopal, A Venkat Rami Reddy, J D Seelam and others were present. (INN)
