BRS MLC Kalvakuntla Kavitha arrived at the Shamshabad airport today, from Delhi.
She was given a grand welcome by BRS leaders and activists. The pink party leaders and activists showered flowers on her, and the airport was resounding with the slogans of Jai Telangana as she greeted the party rank and file.
Kavitha reached Hyderabad after five months in Tihar jail. She was accompanied by the BRS working president K T Rama Rao, former minister and Siddipet MLA Harish Rao, her husband Anil, several party MLAs and senior party leaders.
She will visit the farmhouse of former CM K Chandrashekar Rao (her father) in Erravelli on Thursday.
Kavitha was arrested by the ED in Hyderabad on March 15 in connection with the Delhi liquor policy case. The court had on March 26 remanded her to judicial custody in the case. Since then, she has been lodged in Tihar jail in judicial custody. On Tuesday, the Supreme Court granted bail to Kavitha in both the ED and the CBI cases. The lawyers of Kavitha handed over the copies of the bail order to the Tihar jail authorities, and she was then released.
