BRS MLC Kalvakuntla Kavitha today appeared before the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in the national capital for the second round of questioning in connection with the Delhi liquor policy scam.
Kavitha, daughter of Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, was first questioned in the case on March 11. She was summoned again on March 16, but she skipped appearing on that day saying that her plea for relief against ED action was pending in the Supreme Court. The probe agency rejected her claims and asked her to depose again on March 20.
Kavitha reached the ED office along with her husband and scores of BRS leaders this morning, and went inside to depose.
According to sources, Kavitha and Hyderabad-based businessman Arun Ramachandran Pillai, an arrested accused in the case who allegedly shares close ties with her, were jointly interrogated by the agency. Later, Pillai was produced before the Avenue Court which extended his judicial remand upto April 3.
Meanwhile, suspense continues over the fate of Kavitha as the ED interrogation goes on at the time of publishing this article. BRS leaders and activists in large numbers have camped near the ED office.
