Demanding that the Telangana government order a CID inquiry into the alleged corruption in the Satavahana University, Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) official spokesperson K Mahesh demanded that Deputy Chief Minister of Education Kadiam Srihari tender his resignation owning the responsibility to the corruption and irregularities that took place in the university.
Speaking to the media on Tuesday at Gandhi Bhavan, Mahesh alleged that the education department was becoming a safe haven for the corrupt. He claimed that Satavahana University was becoming a center for scams these days as its management was selling single lecturer posts to multiple third parties (other colleges) to avoid the fee reimbursement scheme. He also claimed that the university was selling itself out because there were no permanent Vice-Chancellors to govern it.
He demanded that the State government conduct a CID probe into the role of interim Vice-Chancellor of the university Janardhan Reddy in the scam. Mahesh said that a CID probe was necessary to unravel Kadiam Srihari's and in-charge registrar Komal Reddy role in the scam.
