Kasireddy Venkat Rajendra Nath Reddy, Director General (Intelligence), has been given full additional charge as the head of the Andhra Pradesh police force until further orders.
Orders to this effect were issued today.
It is expected that the 1992 batch IPS officer will be made the Director General of Police (DGP) of Andhra Pradesh once his successor to the intelligence post is identified and orders issued.
Incumbent DGP, IPS officer Gautam Sawang, has been ordered to report to the General Administration Department pending further orders.
Sawang is from the 1986 batch.
Reddy had earlier worked as the Commissioner of Police for Vijayawada and Visakhapatnam. He had also worked as the Inspector General of Hyderabad's West Zone and as the Director General of Vigilance & Enforcement.
In his previous assigments, he had played a key role in many important cases and earned recognition at the national level.
