Nellore MLA Anam Vivekananda Reddy on Saturday condemned the stand taken by Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) President K Chandrasekhar Rao against the Rachabanda program.
Speaking to media persons after meeting Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy, the Congress MLA said that KCR was pushing for a separate state citing under-development of Telangana region even while opposing a program aimed to bring the benefits of government schemes to the doorsteps of the people.
This stand was similar to 'devil quoting scriptures', Vivekananda Reddy said.
Referring to the TRS chief's tirade against leaders from coastal Andhra and Rayalaseema regions, the Nellore MLA said that KCR had seemingly lost his balance and was speaking below the stature of a Parliamentarian.
The MLA further said that the TRS chief had no locus standi, as all his party candidates could not win elections in their own Telangana region.
Vivekananda Reddy pointed out that the Telangana Rashtra Samithi had only 11 MLAs representing the party in the Assembly, out of the 119 seats in the region. This, he said, was a poor representation, considering his party's boastful presentation and stand on the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh.
The representation by the party, and its poor show clearly indicated how popular the TRS or KCR himself was in the Telangana region, Vivekananda Reddy pointed out.
