Senior Congress leader and MLC Gone Ponguleti Sudhakar Reddy charged TRS President K Chandrasekhar Rao of trying to pull down the government so that more of his family members and relatives got elected into the state Assembly in the elections that would naturally follow.
Speaking to media persons at the CLP office on the Assembly premises on Saturday, Sudhakar Reddy said that there were a few members of KCR's immediate and extended family who were not MLAs yet, and that the TRS chief was trying to get them elected. "This is the major reason behind his efforts to pull down the N Kiran Kumar Reddy government," the MLC alleged.
He said that KCR's daughter, K Kavitha, her husband, and his other relatives were on the waiting list, and that fresh elections would see the TRS chief trying to give them party tickets. Sudhakar Reddy pointed out that KCR's son K Taraka Rama Rao and his nephew Harish Rao were already MLAs.
The Congress MLC further added that KCR himself was the major stumbling block in the formation of a separate Telangana state since he was speaking against leaders from coastal Andhra and Rayalaseema regions even though he was aware that bifurcation of the state could not take place without their support.
Accusing KCR of intentionally targeting the Seemandhra leaders of all political parties, Sudhakar Reddy said that this was being done to delay the formation of Telangana so that KCR had more time to play with the sentiments of the people.
The Congress MLC further added that KCR was using 'vulgar' and 'unpalatable' language against Seemandhra leaders, further harming the interests of Telangana. He alleged that KCR had called the Seemandhra leaders as 'Ravanas', which was highly condemnable.
