Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu met Japan's Prime Minister Shinzo Abe today in Tokyo.

In a high-powered meeting, the Japanese Prime Minister assured the Chief Minister that Japan would extend all possible technical and financial assistance to AP for the building of its capital and its infrastructure.

Abe also appreciated Andhra Pradesh's efforts in attracting investments.

The Chief Minister invited the Japanese PM to the foundation stone-laying ceremony for Amaravati. The Chief Minister assured Abe that Prime Minister Narendra Modi also would write to him inviting him for the ceremony.

Naidu also requested Abe to make some institutionalized arrangement for an AP-Japan relationship. The Japanese PM replied in the affirmative.

Later, Naidu presented the Tirupati prasadam and a sacred shawl from Lord Balaji's abode to the Japanese PM. Abe recalled that during his earlier visit, too, Naidu had presented these to him.

Before meeting the Prime Minister, Naidu also had a brief interaction with Yoshihide Suga, the Chief Cabinet Secretary of Japan. (NSS)
