Former minister K Jana Reddy, on Saturday, expressed confidence that the Congress alone will win the next Assembly elections, and gift the first Telangana government to AICC president Sonia Gandhi who had worked hard to bring about statehood to the region.
Speaking to media personnel after chairing a meeting with Telangana Congress leaders at his residence, Jana Reddy made it clear that the Congress party will not form alliances with any party, including the Telangana Rashtra Samithi, and that it will fight the elections alone.
However, he said, the T-Congress leaders will abide by the High Command's decision on having an alliance with the TRS.
Stating that the Congress High Command is going to announce the formation of two separate PCCs for Telangana and Andhra Pradesh in the next few days, Jana Reddy said that Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi will be invited for the massive thanksgiving public meetings which are being planned to be held at Hyderabad and Warangal.
He appealed to the people to vote for the Congress as the party had worked really had at realising the collective dream of a separate Telangana state.
It may be mentioned that Jana Reddy is likely to be made the PCC president in Telangana and that he will lead a 10-member committee for the forthcoming general elections. (INN)
