AICC vice-president Rahul Gandhi has allegedly promised a top position to former minister K Jana Reddy after the next elections.
Jana Reddy, who was unhappy on being denied the post of the Telangana PCC chief, met AICC president Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi on Thursday to register his protest.
However, Jana Reddy was reportedly persuaded by Rahul Gandhi to abide by the High Command's decision on the recent nominations while promising that he would be accommodated in a top position later.
Jana Reddy did not hide his frustration over Ponnala Lakshmaiah's appointment as the Telangana PCC president.
Speaking to media personnel after meeting the top leaders, Jana Reddy clarified that he has not sought any posts during his political career stretched over three decades.
He said that he had not come to Delhi to put the party high command in a fix, and that his contribution in the Telangana movement will be remembered by all. He also said that he has never lobbied for the posts, and would abide by the party's decision. (INN)
