Telangana Congress Campaign Committee's chairman Damodar Rajanarasimha, on Sunday, announced that AICC president Sonia Gandhi will address four public meetings in the Telangana region.
Speaking to media personnel at Gandhi Bhavan, Rajanarasimha said that the venue and dates for the public meetings were being finalised. He said that one of the meetings will be held in Hyderabad.
He also said that lakhs of people are likely to participate in the public meetings wherein Sonia Gandhi will be thanked for bringing about the statehood for Telangana.
Rajanarasimha accused TRS president K Chandrasekhar Rao of misleading the people by frequently changing his statements on the TRS' proposed merger with the Congress.
He said that the Congress had never made any offer for the merger with the TRS. However, KCR himself had issued conflicting statements, and by doing so, had created confusion among the people.
He said that the major credit for the formation of Telangana goes to the martyrs who had sacrificed their lives for the statehood cause.
Meanwhile, TPJAC leader A Dayakar, OUJAC leader Seshank and a few other leaders joined the Congress party in the presence of Rajanarasimha at Gandhi Bhavan on Sunday. (INN)
