In another major declaration that is bound to cause a flutter, Union Home Minister Chidambaram has said that the talks on January 5 are intended only to set the process for the consultations in place, and will not focus on the formation of Telangana itself.
The much ballyhooed talks, to which all recognized political parties have been invited, will allow 2 representatives from each party. This is so that they can contradict each other, since no major party in AP with the exception of the TRS seems to have a single opinion on Telangana.
D Srinivas, the PCC President, has said that the Congress will choose its 2 representatives after speaking with CM Rosaiah and the Congress' in-charge of AP affairs Veerappa Moily, so that the party's opinion is reflected in the best possible manner.
