Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Jaganmohan Reddy today launched the YSR EBC Nestham scheme at his camp office in Tadepally.
Speaking on the occasion, he said that he was happy to launch yet another welfare program in the state, and that his government was drawing inspiration from the constitution of the country.
He said that the scheme would benefit the poor women from the forward caste communities of Andhra Pradesh, specifically the Reddy, Kamma, Arya Vysya, Kshatriya and Velama communities. The upper caste communities too had poor people, and the government had launched the scheme to help such people, he said.
The scheme was meant for women in the age group of 45 to 60 years, and a total of 3,92,674 female beneficiaries would benefit from it, he added. The government had issued Rs. 589 crore for its implementation, he said.
