Jagan, KCR Congratulate Goreti
The AP and Telangana Chief Ministers today poured encomiums on noted poet and MLC Gorati Venkanna for winning the prestigious Sahitya Akademi Award for 2021.

Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao today conveyed his greetings to noted poet and Legislative Council Member Gorati Venkanna for winning the prestigious Central Sahitya Akademi Award for 2021.
The CM said "Vallanki Talam", a compilation of Venkanna's poetry, winning the Sahitya Academi Award was a matter of pride for the entire state.
The CM said that the poetry of Venkanna, which unveiled the day to day problems of the daily life of the common man with a touch of social philosophy, mirrored the universal suffering of the poor and the middle class, and took the smell of Telangana's soil global.
The CM further hailed Venkanna for beautifully unveiling "the umbilical relationship" between human life and nature, and between man and animals.
KCR also said that Venkanna had played a key role during the Telangana statehood movement through his songs and literature.
The CM also congratulated noted writer Devaraju Maharaju for getting the prestigious Sahitya Akademi Bala Sahitya Puraskar for his play "Nenu Ante Evaru" and Tagulla Gopal for winning the Sahitya Akademi Yuva Puraskar for his "Danda Kadiyam".
The CM said that the fact that Telangana won awards in all three categories showed the calibre of the state's writers.
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy too congratulated Venkanna.
"The balladeer with his down-to-earth expression cocooned in a native folklore notation has won laurels and hearts of the masses, and has been been a legendary figure," the AP CM said, adding that Venkanna's songs would inspire many youngsters in the days to come.
Reddy also congratulated Tagulla Gopal and Devaraju Maharaju.
