Jagan Holds Review Meeting On Higher Education
Andhra Pradesh CM Y S Jaganmohan Reddy today held a meeting to review the functioning of higher education institutions in the state at his camp office.

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Jaganmohan Reddy today held a review meeting on the state of higher education at his Tadepalli camp office.
At the meeting, he issued instructions to the concerned officials to devise an action plan to improve the facilities in AP's top government varsities to enable the institutions to be at par with the IITs and consequently secure top NIRF ranks.
The CM directed the officials to work on improving the overall quality of education provided in universities across AP. He hopes to see the higher education institutions of his state, like JNTU (Kakinada, Anantapur), Andhra University, S V University, Padmavathi Mahila University, and RGUKT (IIITs), included among the top ten in India. For this, the officials were also asked to provide budget estimates outlining the costs of improving the institutions.
They were asked to expedite the establishment setting up of the upcoming architecture university at Kadapa and the construction of IIIT buildings in Srikakulam and Ongole as well.
Jagan stated that the government would work to improve the state's universities over the next two years. To achieve this, the officials were told to examine the practices adopted by the higher ranking colleges of the nation, to recruit talented teachers, to take steps to initiate partnerships between AP's universities and institutions of global repute.
As part of the efforts to improve medical education, the CM announced that the government would be setting up 16 new medical colleges.
Education Minister Adimulapu Suresh, Special Chief Secretary (Higher Education) Satish Chandra, Principal Secretary (Finance) N Gulzar, APSCHE Chairman K Hemachandra Reddy, and RGUKT Chancellor Prof K C Reddy were among those officials present at the meeting.
