Concerned by the
rapid spread of Covid-19 in Telangana, the Telangana Social Welfare Residential Educational Institutions Society (TSWREIS) today announced that the Telangana Gurukulam Undergraduate Common Entrance Test (TGUGCET) had been postponed.
The exam is taken by those seeking admission into undergraduate courses at Telangana's Social and Tribal Welfare Residential Degree Colleges.
This year, the exam was to be held on April 25, but has been postponed keeping in mind the seriousness of the ongoing pandemic.
The revised dates of the entrance test will be announced later, at least 15 days in advance.
In a statement, TSWREIS Secretary Dr R S Praveen Kumar said that candidates could visit www.tswreis.in for updates and other important information about the exam or could call on the toll-free number 180042545678 for any queries.
Various exams have been postponed in Telangana and in other states due to the health concerns posed by Covid-19.
Just last month, the Telangana government had announced that all the
degree and PG semester exams in the state had been postponed till further notice.
Telangana State Council of Higher Education head Papi Reddy had informed the media that though some colleges had already conducted exams, all the other exams of the degree and PG courses had been postponed, and that the new dates and schedules would be released shortly.
