Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Jaganmohan Reddy arrived in Visakhapatnam this morning to attend the Sri Sarada Peetham anniversary celebrations.
Jagan arrived at 10:40 am and reached the peetham at Chinamushidiwada of Pendurthi mandal by road. He was welcomed at the ashram with a purna kumbha swagatham by the priests.
He then participated in the programs marking the culmination of the rituals and in the Viswasanthi yagam. Along with the Peethadhipathi Swami Swaroopananda and his disciple Swami Swathmanandendra, Jagan also offered prayers to Goddess Rajasyamala.
As part of the program, he also felicitated vedic scholars with gold "kankanams" (anklets).
He then inaugurated the newly-constructed mandapam hall called Swayam Jyothi, and received a book written by the seer titled "Thathvamasi", based on the seer's commentaries.
The Chief Minister then returned to Vijayawada.
