Communist Party Of India state secretary K Narayana, on Tuesday, dismissed allegations of YSR Congress leaders that the ruling Congress and the TDP had hatched a conspiracy with the CBI to arrest Kadapa MP Y S Jaganmohan Reddy.
Talking to media persons after participating in a bike rally launched to protest the
steep increase in petrol prices by oil marketing companies, Narayana stated that there was no truth in the allegations, and added that Jagan had landed behind the bars because of his own mistakes.
Stating that greed for power and money has landed Jagan in jail, he said that the law would take its own course.
The CPI leader demanded that the Centre and Union Petroleum Minister S Jaipal Reddy take immediate measures to revoke the hike on petrol prices, as, he said, it would heavily burden the common man and make their lives miserable.
He warned the government that the CPI would intensify its agitation against petrol prices until the oil marketing companies reduce the prices. (INN)
