Former minister J C Diwakar Reddy on Saturday expressed confidence that rebel candidate Adala Prabhakar Reddy would win the Rajya Sabha elections.
Speaking to media persons in the Assembly premises, Diwakar Reddy said that the Congress had committed a mistake by not fielding the fourth candidate in the Rajya Sabha elections. He said that all pro-united Andhra Pradesh MLAs would vote in favour of Adala and ensure his victory.
He also claimed that all three official candidates of the Congress party would also win the election.
Diwakar Reddy said that by ensuring the election of Adala to the Rajya Sabha, pro-Samaikhyandhra legislators would display their unity and the power of pro united state sentiments.
Earlier, he, along with minister K Parathasarathy, met Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy at the latter's camp office at Begumpet. The trio reportedly discussed the Rajya Sabha elections, which are scheduled to be held on February 7. (INN)
