IT Park For Disabled Persons In Telangana: KTR
The Telangana IT Minister announced that an IT park would be set up for providing special opportunities in the IT sector for persons with disabilities.
Telangana IT Minister K T Rama Rao today announced that a special IT park would be set up for providing special opportunities in the IT sector for persons with disabilities in the state.
He also stated that 3% reservation would be provided to such individuals in the free double bedroom housing scheme of the state.
Inaugurating a park constructed specially for persons with disabilities at a cost of Rs 77 lakhs at the Nalgonda crossroads, KTR said that the park was the first of its kind in the country, and was one among the over 50 welfare initiatives being taken up the government in its aim to make the state disabled-friendly.
The park had been designed and developed in a barrier-free environment with a physiotherapy facility, a medicinal plant garden and other recreational material to match international standards, he said.
He added that the government would construct such special parks within the limits of all municipal corporations across Telangana.
Deputy Chief Minister Mahmood Ali, Home Minister Nayani Narasimha Reddy, Transport Minister Mahender Reddy, City Mayor Bonthu Rammohan, Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi, MLA Balal, Musi Development Corporation Chairman Premsingh Rathod, Deputy Mayor Baba Fasiuddin, GHMC Commissioner Dr B Janardhan Reddy and Disabled Development Corporation chairman Vasudev Reddy were present at the occasion.
The minister also inaugurated an indoor stadium constructed at a cost of Rs 1.2 crores in Sripuram Colony. Speaking on the occasion, Deputy Chief Minister Mahmood Ali said that so far in the state it was the KCR government alone that had been constantly implementing welfare schemes for people of all classes to ensure equitable development.
