Governor ESL Narasimhan on Sunday called upon teachers to inculcate moral values among children along with education at school level itself.
Participating in the Children's Day celebrations at Raj Bhavan, Narasimhan said that children should develop good habits like respecting parents and elders, speaking the truth, working hard, and be honest at all levels.
"These good habits will help the children grow up as good citizens and bring laurels to the country," the Governor stated.
Earlier, children and teachers from different schools in the city visited the Raj Bhavan, and greeted the Governor and the First Lady.
The Governor wished the children all success and offered them sweets and chocolates.
Students from Vidya Saraswathi Veda Patasala, Vargul, recited Vedic slokas. The children also sang patriotic songs.
The children went round the mobile exhibition organised specially by the Salar Jung Museum on the premises of Raj Bhavan. Lord Buddha's life sketch was displayed at the exhibition.
Andhra Pradesh Red Cross Society chairman Justice Lakshman Rao, society general secretary Uma Maheswara Rao and joint secretary to Governor P Basanth were present.
