The school education department of Telangana on Saturday issued orders asking teachers employed in government schools to submit the details of their assets.
The school education department of Telangana on Saturday issued orders asking teachers employed in government schools to submit the details of their assets.
The teachers were also directed to take prior permission before any sale or purchase of their movable and immovable assets.
The orders were issued on the basis of a recommendation of the vigilance and enforcement department of the State in April last year.
The department also asked the officials concerned to introduce biometric attendance at government schools and to record the attendance of teachers.
The vigilance and enforcement department came up with the recommendations following the inquiry into allegations faced by the headmaster of the Guntipally government high school in Chandampeta mandal of Nalgonda district, Mohammad Javed Ali, who was absconding from his duties but was active in politics.
It was also found that Ali was quite active in the real estate business and in settlements linked to the Waqf board of the district.
