The Telangana Assembly on Wednesday witnessed a stormy debate between the ruling Congress and opposition BRS MLAs over former chief minister K Chandrashekar Rao's alleged derogatory remarks against Chief Minister Revanth Reddy during a public meeting held by the BRS yesterday in Nalgonda.
When the Assembly session began on discussing the vote-on-account budget, a war of words broke out between the Congress and the BRS MLAs in the House.
Revanth Reddy expressed anger at the language used by KCR in Nalgonda, and challenged him to a debate.
"Are you ready to discuss Kaleshwaram project? The Congress government is ready to discuss the subjects of the Kaleshwaram project and the Godavari river waters. We are giving you time till tomorrow evening. If KCR is honest and is not involved in any irregularities during the execution of the Kaleshwaram project, he should come to the Assembly and participate in the discussion," Reddy said.
Reminding the members of the remarks of KCR that he would kill Revanth Reddy, the Chief Minister said that instead the people had given KCR a death blow in the recent Assembly elections, and said that the Congress did not want to kill a dead snake.
BRS MLA Kadiyam Srihari objected to the language used by the Chief Minister against KCR, and said that it was not appropriate for Reddy to speak in such a manner in the Assembly.
