The Telugu Desam Party, on Monday, said IAS officials must turn approvers to expose the irregularities that allegedly took place during the regime of Y S Rajasekhara Reddy as the Chief Minister.
Talking to reporters at the Telugu Desam Legislature Party office, MLC Rajendra Prasad alleged that YSR Congress party president Jaganmohan Reddy had used certain IAS officials as rubber stamps to get away with corruption during YSR's regime. Therefore, IAS officials whose powers were misused, and those who were forced to sign on GOs, must turn approvers, he opined.
The TDP MLC has asked the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to interrogate IAS officer Bhanu Prasad to unravel all the irregularities that Jaganmohan Reddy was responsible for.
He alleged that Bhanu Prasad was aware of the irregularities, including APIIC-Emaar, OMC and other scams.
He also asked the IAS Officers Association to not support the corrupt IAS officials in the state, and to extend support to the CBI in its probes.
Rajendra Prasad also questioned the rationale behind the accused, arrested in different cases, seeking special status in prison.
He sarcastically said that the government must attach Jagan's Lotus Pond to itself and shift all the accused there to provide them with all the facilities they want.
The TDP leader also alleged that Pradesh Congress Committee president Botsa Satyanarayana also had a share in the irregularities committed by Jaganmohan Reddy. That is why he is rarely heard on cases related to the YSR Congress president, he alleged.
Referring to IAS officer L V Subramaniam's oath-taking on Lord Venkateshwara to claim his innocence in APIIC-Emaar scam, Rajendra Prasad that it was Subramaniam who had signed the Rs. 11 crore cheque for the Volkswagen scam. (INN)
