Former minister and BJP candidate for the Malkajgiri Lok Sabha seat Etala Rajender today claimed that he was a victim of the phone-tapping case that has created a sensation in Telangana.
At a meet-the-press event held on Sunday, Etala said, "I am the first victim of phone-tapping in the State. Everyone's phone was tapped. The phones of my family members, my driver, my cook and me were all tapped. I am in this situation today because of phone-tapping," he claimed.
He said that former CM K Chandrashekar Rao did not even trust the 17 ministers in his cabinet, and allegedly heard their conversations including those between husbands and wives. He claimed that some people's marriages had even collapsed due to the phone-tapping issue.
He said that it was very painful that something like this happened in a democracy, and demanded a thorough probe into the phone-tapping case.
He expressed confidence that the BJP would win more than 12 MP seats in Telangana in the upcoming elections.
