I Am Not The Congress' Stooge: M Kodandaram

Affirming that he would not be cowed down by personal attacks, Telangana Political JAC chairman M Kodandaram said that his fight against the Telangana government on farmer and minority issues would continue.

Speaking to the media on Wednesday, Kodandaram suggested that the TRS government strive towards solving problems of the people instead of attacking those who questioned the government. He said that he held no grudge against the leaders who ridiculed him on Tuesday, and that his anger was only towards government policies. He insisted that the JAC's allegations were entirely true and that the government was attacking him only to hide its mistakes.

He alleged that the government did not care enough, even though the JAC supposedly apprised the State government on the condition of the project oustees of Kaleshwaram and others, or of those who were affected by drought. He also pointed out that there was no response from the government over the JAC's appeal to solve the issues plaguing the Home Guard.

Lashing out at the ruling TRS party for calling him a stooge of the Congress, Kodandaram ridiculed the criticism he received on his alleged meeting with the AICC Chief Sonia Gandhi.

"The TRS is under the impression that I met Sonia Gandhi. I was at Varanasi on June 16, and I participated in a Dharna at the Indira Park on June 27. How exactly did Telangana's intelligence agencies fail to uncover my whereabouts, which were known to everyone around me?" he questioned.

He said that the JAC would conduct a one-on-one program with the oustees of the Kaleshwaram Project at Manthani on November 11. On November 13, it would organise a conference on problems of the medical sector, and on November 20, it would conduct a meeting on irrigation projects, reservoirs, power projects and open cast mining.
