Veterinarian Waylaid, Raped & Killed Near Shadnagar

Unidentified miscreants on Wednesday raped and killed a veterinary doctor Priyanka Reddy at Chatanpally village at Shamshabad under Shadnagar mandal.

Her body was found under a bridge of the village.

Reddy was reportedly returning from a hospital in Madhapur to her place of residence in Shamshabad on a Scooty. However, her vehicle's tyre got punctured on the way, at Chatanpally. She immediately called up her sister and told her about puncture, and that she was feeling scared as there were a few people around in the area. She also told her sister that although some locals tried to help her, they couldn't do much as there were no puncture shops in the area.

On hearing this, her sister advised her to go to the nearby toll plaza for security.

Minutes later, Reddy's phone was switched off.

According to the police, the area where her Scooty got punctured had plenty of lorry drivers, and so some lorry drivers might have kidnapped her and taken her to an isolated place and raped her.

They also said that Priyanka might have been burnt alive by the criminals as her charred body was found in Shadnagar in Ranga Reddy district on Thursday morning. Police said that they received a call from passersby at 7:30 am that the burnt body of a woman was found near Chatanpally village.

The Shamshabad DCP formed 16 teams to track down the killers.

Priyanka Reddy is a native of Narsaihpally village of Kollapur mandal. She was working as a veterinary doctor at Kollur village under Nawabpet mandal in Mahabubnagar district.
