The Cyberabad police today busted a drug trafficking racket and arrested an eight-member gang behind it.
Revealing the details of the arrests, the Cyberabad CP Stephen Ravindra said that the police had seized 50 grams of MDMA, 45 grams of cannabis, 4 mobile phones and a Swift car.
He said that the police would invoke PD Act against the arrested accused.
He also said that the police had arrested 257 people in 132 drugs cases so far this year, and had seized 263 kgs of cannabis, 27 MDMA pills and 10 ecstasy pills in their raids.
Separately, the railway police of the city today seized 120 kgs of banned cannabis in the Konark express going to Mumbai from Odisha.
On a tip-off, the police conducted searches in the train and found the cannabis in a compartment.
They apprehended two women who were allegedly transporting the cannabis.
