Ganja Worth Rs 2 Crore Seized, Two Held
The Shamshabad police arrested two inter-state drug peddlers identified as Kushi Mohammed and Sonu Singh, and seized 800 kg of ganja worth Rs 2 crore from them.

Acting on a tip-off in the early hours, the sleuths of Special Operations Team (SOT), Shamshabad Zone, along with the Shamshabad police apprehended two inter-state drug peddlers identified as Kushi Mohammed and Sonu Singh, and seized 800 kg of ganja, a lorry and two mobile phones, worth Rs 2 crore in all, from them.
Police said that the two accused belonged to Uttar Pradesh. They had been indulging in illicit transportation of ganja from the Odissa agency area to Bulandshahar of UP via Hyderabad - they used to procure the ganja from cultivators in the Visakha/Odissa agency area and supply it to Sikander, who monitored the business.
In the wee hours of Saturday (May 7), they left the agency area with a lorry loaded with 800 kg ganja for Bulandshahar district via Hyderabad. On Sunday morning, acting on a tip-off, the Shamshabad police caught them with the lorry at the Pedda Golconda crossroads under the limits of the Shamshabad PS. On enquiry the accused revealed the details, and the police seized the lorry.
The police said that the accused purchased ganja at Rs 3,000 per kg and sold it at Rs 20,000 per kg.
