The SOT L B Nagar Zone and the Nagole police today busted an MDMA peddling racket and arrested two persons at the Nagole X Roads.
The accused - Junaid Raza Siddiqui (36) and Sunil Subba alias Johny (29) - were caught with 25.65 grams of MDMA. Three mobile phones, cash, two Honda Activa scooters and a weighing machine were also seized from them.
The total seizure is valued at Rs 3.61 lakh.
The police said that the duo sourced drugs through local contacts linked to suppliers from Himachal Pradesh and sold them in the city for quick money.
Two key suppliers, identified as Mohammed Ansar and Raju, are absconding. The police have launched a manhunt for the absconding suppliers
The police have also intensified efforts to curb drug networks in the city, and appealed to the public to cooperate with them in curbing this menace by sharing information regarding drug-related activities.
