Fire Cracker Victims Flock Sarojini Eye Hospital

Scores of persons who got injured while bursting crackers on the occasion of Diwali flocked the Sarojini Devi Eye Hospital for treatment.

Scores of persons who got injured while bursting crackers on the occasion of Diwali flocked the Sarojini Devi Eye Hospital for treatment.

A total of 31 persons including children who sustained injuries while bursting crackers and approached the hospital were treated.

An opthomalogist of the hospital said that most of the patients were children.

Most of them had only minor injuries, and were sent back to their houses after outpatient treatment. However, four seriously injured persons were admitted to the hospital, and are being treated under supervision. One of them, a native of Chandrayangutta named Raj Tiwari, has lost an eye completely in a cracker blast.

Meanwhile, in Andhra Pradesh, a parked car was gutted after the sparks from a firecracker blast fell on it leading to a fire accident.

The car was completely damaged in the incident.

The incident took place in the Gandhi Nagar area in Parvathipuram of Vizianagaram district of the state.

Locals called up the fire department, whose staff reached the spot and brought the flames under control.
