Telangana BJP president and Karimnagar MP Bandi Sanjay Kumar today lashed out at state government over the issue of the banning of the sale of firecrackers in the state.
He wondered how the bursting of firecrackers would cause air pollution in the state when it was not causing any in 192 countries of the world, and said that the state government had failed in arguing effectively before the High Court, resulting in the ban.
He also alleged that the government had failed to protect the beliefs of the Hindus in the state. He said that the KCR-led state government was routinely acting against Hindu festivals, and that it had become a habit for it to make all Hindu festivals controversial.
He claimed that small businessmen would suffer a lot due to the ban, and said that the state government would be held responsible if any fire accident took place due to the ban.
He also demanded that the government come to the rescue of the firecracker-sellers who were losing due to the ban.
