The City Police on Sunday arrested 2 persons, including a Kenyan national, for possessing drugs.
On a tip-off, a special team of the West Zone DCP arrested George Peter (35) and Vikram Malhotra (42) near the Nizam's Institute of Medical Sciences at Punjagutta, while the former was trying to sell 15 grams of cocaine to someone.
Punjagutta inspector Ashok Chakravarthi told reporters that Peter has been staying in Sainikpuri for the last one year. He earlier lived in Gwalior, in Madhya Pradesh, from where he did his Masters in Political Science.
On Sunday, Peter tried to sell cocaine to Vikram Malhotra, a corporate event manager.
During his interrogation, Peter told the police that he had procured cocaine from one Basheer, a Uganda national, currently living in Mumbai.
Both Peter and Vikram have been booked under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985.
The police have also seized one Skoda car and Rs. 10,000 cash from the possession of the accused. Further investigations into the case are on, the police said. (INN)
