Drug Peddler Held Near Cyber Towers, MMDA Seized
The Madhapur police apprehended one Matam Veerendar alias Veeru, 40, for allegedly peddling drugs near the Cyber Towers junction.

The Madhapur police today apprehended one Matam Veerendar alias Veeru, 40, of Pedda Devada village under Bichukunda mandal of Kamareddy district, for allegedly peddling drugs near the Cyber Towers junction, and seized 70 gram MDMA (Methylenedioxy-Methamphetamine), a four-wheeler and a mobile phone, worth about Rs 10,00,000 in all, from his possession.
The police said that the accused had come into contact with one Pradeep Sharma of Rajasthan and started procuring MDMA from him at Rs 1,000 per gram and selling it in Hyderabad for Rs 6,000 to 7,000 per gram.
Sharma, of Prathap Ghad of Rajasthan, and his assistant Naresh Chowdary, also of Rajasthan, are absconding.
K Shilpavalli, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Madhapur Zone, Cyberabad, appealed to the public to inform the police about any drug suppliers through Dial 100 or through the Cyberabad anti-drug abuse helpline number 9492099100. The identity of the informants would be kept confidential, she said.
