The police seized 1.2 kg of ganja, three cellphones and three bikes used in the commission of the offence.
Acting on a tip-off, the Bowenpally police on Saturday arrested, while performing patrolling duties on the Military Dairy Road, Old Bowenpally, Secunderabad, persons allegedly purchasing ganja, and seized 1.2 kg of ganja, three cellphones and three bikes used in the commission of the offence.
The accused have been identified as Yapa Naveen, Manekar Madan and Maanshi of Film Nagar; Shaik Ameer of KGN Chicken Centre, residing at Devender Nagar, Gajularamaram, and native of Nandikandi village in Sangareddy mandal and district; Shaik Salman of KGN Chicken Centre, Devender Nagar, Gajularamaram; Kothakapur Sai Ram Reddy alias DJ Sai of Devender Nagar, Gajularamaram; and a juvenile boy.
When the police tried to apprehend the above accuded, they split and tried to speed away in different directions. But the police chased them and and arrested them.
The arrests were made under the supervision of G Chandana Deepti, Deputy Commissioner of Police, North Zone, Hyderabad; G Venkateshwarlu, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police, North Zone, Secunderabad; and P Naresh Reddy, Assistant Commissioner of Police, Begumpet Division; and by K Ravi Kumar, Inspector of Police, Bowenpally Police Station; Mohd Akram Baba, Additional Inspector of Police; SIs P Yugandhar and A Nagendra Babu; and their staff.
