Hussain Sagar Lake Police Prevent 209 Suicides
The city Police congratulated the Saifabad ACP, the Inspector of Ramgopalpet (Hussain Sagar), and police staff for saving 209 persons from attempting suicide.

The Hyderabad City Police Commissioner congratulated the Saifabad ACP, the Inspector of Ramgopalpet (Hussain Sagar), and the police staff for saving 209 persons from committing suicide.
As per records, in the year 2014, 50 persons committed suicide; and in 2015, 47 persons taken their lives by drowing in the lake.
In order to prevent such activities and also maintain the lake, a special Bureau of the police - Lake Police - was appointed in the year 2013, and posted to patrol the area regularly. Since then, the death rates reportedly have come down drastically.
Reports also state that the Bureau keeps a watch on such incidents, and saved 82 persons in the year 2014, and by 2015 the team succeeded in saving 207. Till date it saved 209. In 2016, the number of dead came down to 26.
Later, the rescued were counselled by the Lake Police officers, psychologists at the Bharosa and Roshni centers.
