Telangana Commercial Taxes and Cinematography Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav today said the Centre was showing a step-motherly attitude towards Telangana with respect to the allocation of houses for the poor across the nation.
Reacting to the Centre's allocation of only 10,000 houses for Telangana and some 1.90 lakh houses to Andhra Pradesh, Talasani expressed displeasure at what he called the partisan attitude of the Union government.
The housing-for-all scheme under the Urban Development Ministry headed by M Venkaiah Naidu was showing partiality towards AP, he alleged. He found fault with the meagre allocation of houses to Telangana which also he said needed lakhs of houses to cater to the poor dwellers.
Talking about various protests, Talasani said that the issues relating to Asha workers, MSP for cotton and SC categorization were under the Centre's purview, and the State government had no role in the issues. The Telangana government had passed a bill in favour of categorization, he stated. If the BJP leaders had the guts, they should get it passed in Parliament, he challenged. He also flayed Congress leaders Jana Reddy and S Jaipal Reddy for not talking on the issue during their rule.
The minister in general also condemned the criticism by the Opposition parties. The BJP leaders had no right to talk on the crop loan waiver issue for which they did not impress the Centre to give funds, he said.
