Telangana Animal Husbandry Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav today said that 1,258 units of double bed room houses were ready for distribution across his Sanathnagar constituency.
The minister had convened a high level review meeting on the housing scheme with the concerned officials earlier in the day.
Speaking on the matter, he said, "On February 19, IT and Industries Minister K T Rama Rao will formally inaugurate the distribution of 162 2BHK units among the poor at Potti Sriramulu Nagar."
"Following that, 330 units will be distributed in Ambedkar Nagar on March 5, 12 units in Golla Komaraiah Colony on March 8, 180 units in GYR Compound on March 10, and 310 units in Banda Maisamma Nagar on March 20. Further, the poor residents of Chacha Nehru Nagar will receive 264 units on April 15," Yadav added.
The minister also took stock of the ongoing construction of the housing units, and instructed the officials to supervise the works.
Though the officials informed him that the 2 BHK houses were ready for distribution, he said that all the houses for the poor had been poorly built, and asked them to improve the same.
Following the repeated attacks of the Opposition regarding the delay in the completion of its high profile housing scheme, one of its most talked about promises, the Telangana government has expedited the completion of the 2BHK houses for the poor. In December, Finance Minister T Harish Rao
inaugurated 192 2BHK units in KCR Nagar Colony in Siddipet's Narsapur, under the project.
